Note! GEODIS doesn't offer shipments within Denmark and neither from Denmark. If you're a Danish company, you can use GEODIS for import from abroad (e.g. ship goods from a supplier abroad) or have return shipments from abroad sent back to you.

GEODIS Express

GEODIS Express is a product you can use in case you need a door-to-door delivery within the next possible working day.

The product is convenient for time-critical international shipments.

GEODIS Economy

GEODIS Economy can be used if you need door-to-door delivery within a specified number of days.

The product is convenient for less urgent and typically heavier international shipments. It can be used for both single and multi-package shipments, as well as pallets.

Weight and dimensions

GEODIS shipments may consist of one or more packages.

If a package weighs under 20 kg, it's important that it can be handled by only one person.

If a package weighs over 20 kg, then you're required to place it on a pallet. Pallet exchange is not possible in this case and you can't get it back as GEODIS uses it throughout the entire delivery.

Shipping prices

The shipping price depends on the pick up- and delivery- address, together with shipment's physical and volumetric weight. It's therefore important that you fill in the correct weight and measurements, when booking a shipment with GEODIS.

Volumetric weight

Volumetric weight of a shipment (also called dimensional weight) is a calculation which reflects the density of a parcel. The volumetric weight is being calculated and compared to the actual weight of the shipment for each package. The highest weight is used to calculate the cost of the shipment.

GEODIS' volumetric weight of  is calculated as follows:

GEODIS Express

Volumetric weight (kg) = length (m) x width (m) x height (m) x 200

GEODIS Economy

Volumetric weight (kg) = length (m) x width (m) x height (m) x 250

Prohibited and restricted content

GEODIS' shipments must not contain valuable jewelry and watches, securities, irreplaceable items, pornography, pirated goods, animals, illegal furs, plants, human remains or ashes, weapons, ammunition, drugs, liquids, hazardous goods (under IATA and ADR rules). Additional restrictions may occur and are not limited to the laws of some countries.

As a sender, it is your responsibility to ensure that the content of your shipment is acceptable and compliant with the laws and regulations of both the sender and receiver country.

If you're unsure whether your goods can be transported or if there are any restrictions content-wise, please contact our customer service.

Packaging requirements

It's your responsibility as a sender to provide adequate and secure packaging, which can be loaded with other goods and withstand road transport in tarpaulin-covered trucks. Secure packaging allows for stacking, helps to withstand shocks, pressure and vibrations/shaking during transportation and storage. Pallets and cargo must be able to withstand handling by truck. Proper robust packaging prevents the package from causing damage to other shipments, GEODIS or third parties.

Prepare your shipment and book pick-up

A shipping label must be provided for and applied to each package.
Remember to fill out and enclose a proforma or a commercial invoice if you're sending to a destination that requires customs clearance (a non-EU country).

When your shipments are being picked up, it's important to make sure that the driver signs your End of Day list. You can easily print this list from your Shipmondo account. This serves as your evidence that the shipment has been transferred to the carrier and can be crucial in the event of a possible loss claim.

Book your pick-up electronically through your Shipmondo account.

If a shipment and pick-up are booked before 10am, the pick-up can take place on the same day. It is important that the shipment/parcel(s) are ready for pick-up when GEODIS arrives.

Additional services and surcharges

When you book shipments with GEODIS, there are a number of additional service fees that may be imposed on your shipment. That is, for example, if your shipment does not meet the carrier's requirements or requires special handling by the carrier for other reasons.

Therefore it is important that you read and familiarize yourself with the different additional services.
