Shipmondo has an MCP server that you can connect to your preferred AI assistant. Once it is connected, you can write to the assistant the way you would write to a colleague, for example "Book a parcel to Jens Hansen with PostNord" or "Which orders haven't shipped yet?", and it takes care of it in your Shipmondo account.
Note! Only the account owner can approve a new connection. The assistant gets the same access as an API key, and shipments it books are paid for by your account, just like the ones you book yourself.
Set up MCP
Here is a short guide to getting started.
Step 1: Add Shipmondo to your AI assistant
In your AI assistant, add Shipmondo as a custom connector. Some assistants call it an MCP server or an app. When you are asked for a URL, use this one:
https://mcp.shipmondo.com/mcp
You don't need to create an API key or enter a password in the assistant. You log in to Shipmondo in the next step.
Claude (claude.ai and the Claude app)
Go to Settings > Connectors and click Add custom connector. Name it "Shipmondo", paste the URL and click Add. Then click Connect.
Claude Code (on your computer)
Run this command in a terminal, start Claude Code, and type /mcp to log in:
claude mcp add --transport http shipmondo https://mcp.shipmondo.com/mcp
ChatGPT
Go to Settings > Plugins and create a new plugin by clicking on Add in the upper right corner. ChatGPT will now make a new chat with Plugin Creator. Put in the URL https://mcp.shipmondo.com/mcp and follow the flow is it is required.
Depending on your ChatGPT plan, you may first need to turn on developer mode under Advanced.
Gemini CLI (on your computer)
Go to Settings > Connected Apps.
Here comes an overview over your connected apps, where you choose Custom in the upper right corner. Then choose Cloud MCP server.
Put in this URL: https://mcp.shipmondo.com/mcp
Afterwards you just follow the instructions in the login flow.
Other AI assistants
Any assistant that supports MCP servers with login (OAuth) will work. Check the assistant's own guide for where to add an MCP server, and use the URL above.
Step 2: Log in and approve the connection
The assistant opens Shipmondo in your browser. Log in as the account owner if you aren't logged in already.
Check that the name at the top of the page is the assistant you are connecting, for example claude.ai or chatgpt.com. Then click Approve.
Note! If you don't recognise the name on the page, or you didn't start the connection yourself, click Cancel. Then no one gets access to your account.
Once you approve, Shipmondo sends you back to the assistant, and the connection is ready.
Get started right away
The assistant can do the same things you can do through the Shipmondo API. Try writing, for example:
Book a parcel to Jens Hansen, Vestergade 12, 8000 Aarhus C, with the cheapest carrier. |
Which of yesterday's orders haven't shipped yet? |
Compare prices for a 5 kg parcel to Germany. |
Find the nearest service points to 2100 Copenhagen Ø. |
How many shipments have we sent with PostNord this month? |
See everything it can do in our API reference.
See and remove connected assistants
Go to Settings > Integrations > MCP. Here you can see every AI assistant connected to your account, who connected it, and when it was last used.
Programs that run on your own computer, such as Claude Code, are marked (on your computer).
Remove a connection
Click the three dots under More next to the assistant, and choose Remove.
Click Yes to confirm.
The assistant loses access to your account straight away. To use it again, connect it again from the assistant, as described in step 1.
