This feature requires Shipmondo Pro. See the full feature list.
When using Pick lists, Pick path lists, and Packing slips, Shipmondo provides pre-made design templates that you can use as they are.
However, you also have the option to design your own versions in our Document Designer. For example, you can add product images, personal notes/texts, QR codes and barcodes, and customize layout, colors, and much more.
Document Designer
In your Shipmondo account, go to Settings > Document Designer to choose between the different documents you can customize. You can select Packing slip, Pick list, and Pick path list.
When you select the document you want to customize, a window opens where you can edit the document.
The document is edited using HTML and Liquid, so knowledge of these languages is required. You can also refer to our guide on Introduction to Liquid in Shipmondo.
Formats and preview
While working on the design, you can choose in the top-right corner whether to display the document in A4 or 10x19 cm format, and you can also generate a PDF preview of the document.
Import an existing design
You can also click the three dots and select Import document design, which will display a selection of design templates.
Under Packing slips, for example, you can choose between Default, Boxed, Extended, and Image.
You can either use one of these designs as-is or build upon it.
Note! If you are currently editing a template and click Apply on another template, your changes will be overwritten. We therefore recommend making a backup copy of your modified code and saving it elsewhere, so you can always restore it later.
Test preview with your data
You can search for specific orders/shipments in the search field to preview the selected document with real data. This allows you to ensure that everything works as intended.
Simply enter the order number, or the shipment number if it is a packing slip. The preview will then use data from the selected order/shipment for the display.
Documents that can be customized
There are three types of documents whose design can be customized in Shipmondo. See the specific guide for the document you want to edit for more detailed instructions and code examples.
Packing slip
The first document type is the packing slip. A packing slip usually accompanies an order when it is shipped. It provides an overview of the order and the items included. The packing slip can also contain relevant information such as the customer’s order number, shipping method, and payment method.
Pick list
You can also design your Pick list . A picking slip provides information about which items need to be picked for a specific order, the quantities to pick, and possibly where the items are located, for example if you use locations in your warehouse. There is always one picking slip per order.
Pick path list
Finally, you can design picking route slips. A picking route slip is a document that contains items from multiple orders and shows where the different items should be picked in the warehouse, as well as which picking bins the items should be placed in, if you use them.
Language management for documents
It is also possible to control the language of the different documents using our translation tool.
Here, you can enable multiple languages if you operate in multiple markets, and you can both create and translate specific translation keys using the translation tool.
If you want to learn more about our translation tool and how to use it, you can read more in our guide.
