What is PCCC?
PCCC stands for Personal Customs Clearance Code and is a personal customs clearance code used to identify private individuals to the South Korean customs authorities in connection with imports. The code is issued by the Korea Customs Service (KCS) and is used, among other things, when private individuals in South Korea purchase goods from international online stores.
If you sell and ship goods to private individuals in South Korea, you should therefore make sure to obtain the recipient's PCCC when it is required for customs clearance.
Note! It is your responsibility to ensure that the necessary customs information is obtained and submitted correctly. Shipmondo cannot advise on applicable South Korean customs regulations or determine which requirements apply to your specific shipments.
How to provide PCCC in Shipmondo
How the PCCC should be provided when creating a shipment depends on the carrier you are using.
DHL Express and UPS
When booking shipments with DHL Express or UPS to private individuals in South Korea, the recipient's PCCC must be entered in the VAT No.-field under the receiver details.
PostNord
PostNord does not currently support the automatic transfer of PCCC to the South Korean customs authorities. For now, PostNord recommends entering the PCCC in the Address 2 field under the recipient details.
