When you ship with DSV Road Sweden, the price is calculated based on whichever is higher: the parcel's physical weight or its volumetric weight.
Volumetric weight shows how much space the parcel takes up during transport. The calculation applies whether you use Shipmondo's freight agreement or your own freight agreement with DSV.
DSV Road Sweden uses a conversion factor of 280 kg per m³.
Formula with dimensions in metres:
Length × Width × Height × 280 = volumetric weight in kg
Example:
A parcel weighs 3 kg and measures 0.40 × 0.30 × 0.20 m.
Physical weight | Volumetric weight |
3 kg | 0.40 × 0.30 × 0.20 x 280 = 6.72 kg |
The volumetric weight is higher than the parcel's physical weight. The shipment is therefore charged based on the volumetric weight of 6.72 kg.
