Delivery to a remote area

A surcharge for delivery to remote areas is applied when a shipment is delivered to a location that is distant or difficult to service.

This surcharge applies to both national and international shipments.

Pick up from a remote area

A surcharge is billed for pickup from a remote area when a shipment needs to be collected from a location that is distant or difficult to service.

This surcharge applies to both national and international shipments.

Exceeds standard weight

DHL Express charges this surcharge for all parcels, including pallets, where either the actual weight or the volumetric weight exceeds 70 kg.

This surcharge applies to both national and international shipments.

Exceeds standard size (dimension)

DHL Express charges this surcharge for all parcels, including pallets, where at least one of the sides exceeds 120 cm.

This surcharge applies to both national and international shipments, however, it does not apply to packages that are already subject to an overweight surcharge.

Non-stackable pallet

This fee is charged for each individual pallet in a shipment that cannot be stacked, either due to specific instructions from the sender or due to the nature of the shipment such as shape, contents, or packaging of the goods being transported on the pallet.

This surcharge applies to both national and international shipments.

Address correction

A fixed fee per shipment will be applied for providing an incomplete, incorrect, or outdated address or contact information for the recipient.

DHL Express will attempt to find the correct information to complete delivery, but if this is not possible, the shipment will be returned to the sender at the sender's expense.

This surcharge applies to both national and international shipments.

Increased risk

This surcharge is imposed when shipping to countries where DHL Express operates at an increased risk due to a continuous state of war, civil war, or terrorism.

An overview of these countries can be found on DHL's website.

Destinations with limited access

This surcharge is charged when shipping to or from a country that is subject to trade sanctions.

An overview of these countries can be found on DHL's website.
