Shopify - Shipmondo app restrictions

There are som limitations to the Shipmondo app for Shopify due to lack of support in Shopify's API.

These shortcomings of the Shopify API mean that Shipmondo's app does not work properly in some particular use cases. Below you can read about these scenarios/limitations:

Shipping prices based on the total price of the cart and discount codes

The issue has been resolved on 18th December 2025 Following a Shopify update in November 2025, it is now possible for Shipmondo to correctly account for discount codes. This means that price-based shipping rules are now calculated based on the order amount after discounts have been applied.

Issue:

If you use shipping pries based on the total price of the cart (Order amount based) with the Shipmondo app, you will experience that the Shipmondo app does not account for discount codes in its price calculation logic.

Reason:

This issue occurs because of the lack of the checkout information in the Shopify API regarding discounts. This means that we're only given the total order price excluding any discounts.

Status:

RESOLVED. The update has been rolled out, and the system now handles discounts correctly and automatically.

Freight calculation at several locations

Issue:

If you're using several locations in Shopify, you'll experience that the shipping price is calculated for each location ant this is an issue for orders containing items from different locations.

Reason:

This issue occurs because of the lack of the checkout information in the Shopify API regarding discounts. This means that we're only given the total order price excluding any discounts.

The problem is because Shopify sends separate web requests with different "origins" (locations). Since these are independent web requests and we're using several parallel servers, this is an issue that we cannot find a good solution for atm.

Status:​

There's an ongoing incident with Shopify and we're still awaiting a resolution to this issue. Unfortunately there's no time limit or estimated time for implementing a solution at the moment.

Lack of parcel shop selection through Apple and Google Pay

Issue:

The customer cannot select a specific parcel shop for delivery when using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Reason:

We do not receive the necessary recipient information, as Shopify cannot access this data and therefore cannot pass it on to our system.

This means that the customer cannot select a specific parcel shop for delivery. However, the package will still be delivered to the nearest one based on the customer’s address.

Status:​

There's an ongoing incident with Shopify and we're still awaiting a resolution to this issue. Unfortunately there's no time limit or estimated time for implementing a solution at the moment.
