Return Portal with Return Management requires Shipmondo Essentials or Pro.
Pricing and settlement on your Return Portal depend on whether you use Shipmondo's shipping agreement or your own shipping agreement, and whether the customer pays for return shipping.
When setting up a return method on your Return Portal, you can decide whether the customer should pay for return shipping or whether you want to offer free returns.
How the return shipping costs and any customer payments are settled depends on the shipping agreement used for the return method.
If you use Shipmondo's shipping agreement
When you use Shipmondo's shipping agreement for a return method, the end customer pays Shipmondo directly for the return shipping through the Return Portal.
You set the price the customer pays for return shipping. We recommend setting it as close as possible to the expected shipping cost. You can see the current shipping rates in your Shipmondo account under Shipments > Prices.
If the customer's payment doesn't cover the final return shipping cost, Shipmondo will invoice you for the difference. The same applies to any carrier surcharges, for example if the shipment doesn't comply with the carrier's requirements for weight, dimensions or other terms.
If you set the customer's return shipping price higher than the final return shipping cost, the difference won't be paid out to you. If you want to retain any difference between the customer's payment and the shipping cost, you'll need to use your own shipping agreement on the Return Portal.
Example: The customer pays less than the return shipping cost
You offer a return method with PostNord using Shipmondo's shipping agreement and set the customer's return shipping price to 50.00 SEK.
The return parcel weighs 1.5 kg, and the actual return shipping cost is 67.50 SEK.
Actual return shipping cost: 67.50 SEK
Customer's payment: 50.00 SEK
Difference: 17.50 SEK
Shipmondo will therefore charge you the difference of 17.50 SEK.
If you use your own shipping agreement
When you use your own shipping agreement for a return method, you settle the return shipping costs directly with the carrier according to the terms of your shipping agreement.
When using your own shipping agreement on the Return Portal, you decide whether the customer should pay for return shipping and, if so, how much.
1. If the end customer doesn't pay for return shipping
If you offer free returns, Shipmondo only charges the standard shipping label price for the return shipping label created.
The shipping label price depends on your total monthly label usage and is covered by Shipmondo's automatic volume discount.
2. If the end customer pays for return shipping
If the customer pays for return shipping through your Return Portal, Shipmondo credits the customer's payment to your Shipmondo balance.
How much does it cost to accept payments through the Return Portal?
You still pay the standard shipping label price for the return shipping label.
In addition, Shipmondo charges a transaction fee for each payment. The transaction fee covers the payment gateway, card processing and administration of payments and payouts.

Note! f you offer a Return Portal in a currency different from the currency of your Shipmondo account, 2% is added to the exchange rate when the amount is converted into your Shipmondo account currency.
Example: How the amount credited to your balance is calculated
You offer a return method with GLS using your own shipping agreement and set the customer's return shipping price to 50.00 SEK incl. VAT.
In this example:
Customer's payment: 50.00 SEK incl. VAT
Shipping label price: 0.82 SEK excl. VAT (1.03 SEK incl. VAT)
Transaction fee: 2.80 SEK excl. VAT (3.50 SEK incl. VAT)
The amount credited to your Shipmondo balance is therefore calculated as follows:
50.00 - 1.03 - 3.50 = 45.47 SEK
A total of 45.47 SEK is therefore credited to your Shipmondo balance.
Note! Your actual return shipping cost isn't included in this calculation, as it's settled directly between you and the carrier.
