Through your Shipmondo account, you can configure fixed pickup dates, times, and instructions to automate the creation of shipments, wherever this information is required as a part of the booking process.
Note! This function cannot be used if pickup booking happens through a separate process, after the shipment itself has been booked.
How to set up fixed pickup instructions
1. Go to Settings > Pickup times.
Click on the Plus-button (+) in the bottom right corner to create a new pickup instruction template.
2. Depending on your needs, you can create templates that apply to all carriers and agreements or a specific carrier and agreement.
Make sure to start by naming your template to distinguish it from others in case you need multiple setups.
Fill out the rest of the form as shown below and click Create.
Pickup days and times
Here, you can select the days and time slots when you want pickups to occur.
The Cutoff time defines a point in the day when pickup bookings shift to the next available pickup day. If a pickup is booked after the cutoff time, the system will automatically assign the next eligible pickup day.
For example, if pickups are set for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, any shipments booked on Tuesday will be scheduled for Wednesday, and shipments booked on Thursday will be scheduled for Friday.
If the cutoff time is set to 13:00, a pickup booked at 14:45 on a Wednesday will not be scheduled for that day but instead for Friday, as Wednesday’s cutoff time has been exceeded.
Pickup instruction
Here you can set a default pickup instruction. This can still be adjusted manually during the booking process if needed.
Carrier and agreement-specific setup
If you want the template to apply to a specific carrier, check the box for Carrier specific and select the relevant carrier.
If you have multiple agreements with the same carrier but want the setup to apply to a specific agreement, choose the corresponding freight agreement under Shipping agreement. If the setup should apply to all agreements with the selected carrier, leave the Shipping agreement field empty.
