Proper declaration of dangerous goods is the foundation for safe and legal transport. Whether you are shipping lithium batteries, chemicals, paint, or perfume, there are strict requirements for how this information must be provided to the carrier.
In this guide, we will go through a step-by-step process of how to fill out the necessary fields in Shipmondo.
Shipping dangerous goods in Shipmondo
When creating a shipment manually, you can ship dangerous goods with selected carriers, such as Danske Fragtmænd and Esbjerg Gods. We will use Danske Fragtmænd in our example.
Create shipment
Go to Shipments > Create.
If you have selected Danske Fragtmænd as your carrier, you can choose to fill out the Dangerous goods field with either Limited Quantity or Dangerous goods.
Add colli and fill out dangerous goods details
Now, add a colli (parcel) and fill in the basic information as usual.
Once you have entered the basic details, proceed to the Dangerous Goods section.
When adding a new parcel, you must provide more specific information regarding the contents of the shipment. This includes the Class, UN number, Packaging, and whether there is a Tunnel Restriction Code.
In Shipmondo, you can add multiple types of dangerous goods per parcel, provided the carrier allows it.
Finally, click Create.
