What is a shipment template?
A shipment template is a collection of default settings used when creating shipments in Shipmondo. It helps streamline manual workflows, reduce errors, and save time by reusing the same shipment settings across your shipments.
Where are shipment templates used in Shipmondo?
Shipment templates are used throughout Shipmondo and are a key part of automating your shipping workflows.
Manual shipments
When you create shipments manually in Shipmondo, you can select a shipment template to quickly apply the settings you use most often.
This is especially useful if you frequently ship with the same carrier, shipping product, or additional services. It saves time and ensures a consistent shipping process. Read more here.
Imported orders
When an order is imported through one of Shipmondo's plug'n play integrations, Shipmondo identifies the delivery method selected by the customer.
You can assign a shipment template to each delivery method, allowing Shipmondo to automatically apply the correct shipment settings when you create the shipment. This means the carrier, shipping product, and other settings are filled in based on the customer's delivery choice in your webshop, reducing manual work.

Return Portal shipments
If you use Shipmondo's Return Portal, you can assign a shipment template to your return flow.
The shipment template defines how return shipments are created. This allows return labels to be generated automatically and ensures all return shipments are handled consistently.
